A Fun Way To Wear a Vintage Sweater Vest

A Fun Way To Wear a Vintage Sweater Vest

Outfit: Brown mini dress, vintage vest, orange lipstick, orange tights, ugly yellow purse, brown chunky heels

This sweater vest’s so nice, I had to wear it twice!

If you’re anything like me, then you probably remember that I just wore this sweater vest a few posts ago. There’s never a wrong time to make a comeback, right?

This time I chose to channel an off-duty fast food employee in the 1970’s. I thought that was funny considering my last styling with shorts made me feel like a roving reporter. Is there any career option this vest can’t accommodate?

So for my pre-shift-at-a-burger-joint outfit, I paired this vest with the quintessential polo that doubles as the worlds shortest dress. A cool fact about this dress is that it was thrifted (in the best thrift haul ever) and still had new tags attached from Gadzooks in the ’90s. Groovy!

I never planned to wear it as a mini dress but I was dying to find a way to incorporate orange tights into the look. And once I already had those colors going, I just committed with a full nod to the 1970’s complete with my ugly carpet bag.

The last step was adding some platform shoes for dancing to complete the look. (I think there’s a pun in there and I absolutely intended it!)

Orange has totally been my color this season and I am loving it! Last fall, my hair was bright pink so it made it difficult to enjoy stereotypical fall trends like neutral shades and warm colors. It feels good to be back in my dressing element again!

What are you enjoying this season and wearing over & over again? Are you as obsessed with orange as I am? Tell me about it in the comments!

YES to everything! I’m seriously jealous over that sweater vest. That is a bit of thrifting gold.

Also the tapestry bag cannot be left out. I’m a bit obsessed with tapestry bags. The colours in that one are gorgeous.

This is such a fun look. Who’s have thought to wear the top with this dress? And the tights are amazing in this look – so of the season! Kx

I love that sweater vest so much! And the ways you’ve styled it have been fantastic. It’s such a fun piece, and I never would have thought it would be so versatile!
