Back To Basics: Turtleneck Sweater & Utility Jacket

Outfit: mustard yellow turtleneck, olive green utility jacket, leopard print scarf, yellow knit hat, black skater skirt, black tights, cognac colored boots, navy blue quilted purse

Basics don’t have to be boring. Case in point? Everything that I’m wearing. This is how I put them all together to make one awesome outfit!

Hey, I’m breaking my orange streak and replacing it with.. mustard yellow. Things are getting wild on The Outfit Repeater now!

I’ve already worn this yellow turtleneck a few times on the blog and thought I’d mix things up by showing you how to wear it with other basics in your closet to get a really unique look.

Once again, from my fashion mood board, I drew inspiration from an image of a similar yellow top with an olive colored something-or-other. I knew I had to recreate it!

So I did that by wearing a turtleneck sweater, black skater skirt, black tights, cognac colored boots, and a utility jacket. What a mouthful! Each item is a wardrobe staple but the fact that they’re in fun colors is what keeps the outfit from entering boring territory.

Not to mention that I also wore a leopard print scarf so I could say I was wearing some sort of pattern. Leopard print is my one true love! (Right after ice-cream)

I think this outfit is style and function at it’s finest. It’s comfortable yet visually appealing at the same time. That’s a winner in my book!

I’m looking forward to exploring more weird & unusual color combinations in the future, as well as finding new ways to jazz up basic clothes. But rest assured, I’m not getting boring on you. 😉

If you really want to start getting more followers, change the location of your photos. Not to be critical, but you put a lot of time and effort into your blog and videos, but you are taking pictures in front of your garage…Also, get more concise with the written portion of your blog posts

Hi Hannah! This is the same “Sarah” that commented earlier. My blog google account has been hacked, my posts have been completely eradicated, and the hacker is going to many of the blogs on my reading list and writing rude comments (ultimately trying to capture the attention of the blog holder, so they can promote a website or product). I receive emails that tell me that I commented or that the blogger replied, so in part, I am sorry that the person wrote a message to you that upset you! You don’t deserve it and it makes me so sad. You have a great blog and keep being awesome!! <3 Sarah
