What I Wear Over A Swimsuit

When a swimsuit cover-up outfit is this cute, why not show it off?

Beach, Please!

Growing up here in the midwest, my exposure to beaches was puny. However, I learned my way around a lake pretty early on! Nowadays my water experience is limited to hotel pools and the occasional bath.

When I do get out, I love wearing something cute. Choosing a cover-up is just as important as the swimsuit itself, to me! (Click here to see my cute suit underneath.) I ran with that idea for this post and wanted to share a summer outfit as well as ideas for having fun in the sun without any water around.

Aquaholic

When I was younger I wore oversized t-shirts and athletic shorts to cover-up my bathing suit but this summer I have direct doctors orders to get as much sun (Vitamin D) as I can so everyday I choose an outfit that displays enough skin to get the job done.

I love this swimsuit cover up because it’s in my favorite  aqua color and my favorite pattern stripes. It’s also just one piece that I can throw on and go, with or without an actual swimsuit underneath. (Though I prefer one with it.)

Sun Time, Fun Time

Without bulky clothes, my arms are free to do other activities in the sun like read a good book, listen to music, or do some timed meditation. I’ve also gotten in the habit of practicing other outdoor self-care tasks like filling a small tub with water for soaking my feet (really keeps you cool) and giving myself a mani/pedi.

I use an app to time my sessions to maximize my vitamin D absorption without getting burned or endangering my health. If you’re interested, it’s called “dminder” and I can’t recommend how helpful it’s been!

Life’s a Beach

Since my outfit is thrifted and my fun is free, I can spend money on more important things like ice-cream or those tiny fans that you stash in your purse to cool you off. ?
