What I Wore In December
What have I been wearing lately?
In addition to trying on outfits at maurices, as seen in my last post, I’ve also been getting dressed for lots of life moments that happened in December.
I haven’t had the physical capacity or time to capture any photos with my signature pink background so hopefully these quick mirror selfies will suffice!
Hopefully next month marks the return of my usual photoshoots, as well as a top secret project I’m working on that involves lots of glamorous vintage fashion. (Stay tuned for that!)
In the meantime, here is what I wore in December for errands, holiday parties, work shifts, and more!
Technicolor Dream Fits
These two outfits were both styled based on wanting to be comfortable and colorful. The purple tunic dress is identical to one I wore in high school (and loved!) and was able to thrift back into my life last summer. As a teen, I wore it with leggings so it seemed fitting to do that again as an adult!
The other outfits features my favorite rainbow striped tee which I wear frequently, and just switch out the topper and accessories. I love that it goes with everything in my closet. It’s definitely a good grab-and-go piece that helps me feel like “me” without much effort.
Classic Christmas Fits
It wouldn’t be December without some festive Christmas outfits. Here is a line-up of looks worn for a couple work shifts, and a family Christmas gathering.
My thrifted cat Christmas sweater has been a traditional wear in my wardrobe since 2019. As long as it fits, I will keep on wearing it!
The other outfits feature newer buys – like my Studio Y gold sequin t-shirt (which has been on my thrift wishlist for years!) that I bought at maurices this month. After using my employee discount, applying sales, and using a gift card, the total came down to $1! Even working in mainstream retail, I find a way to be thrifty and stretch my dollars.
Colorful Christmas Fits
Having chronic fatigue, it often feels like I spend most of my time laying in bed wearing mismatched pajamas. Inside me is still my old self who loves being creative and dressing-up, she’s just stuck in a body that prefers taking naps.
I’m so grateful to the Whering app that has allowed me to digitize my wardrobe and take back a little piece of my creativity. When I’m low energy, I can swipe and create outfits on the app, that I can then wear when I need to leave the house. This app has been immensely helpful with decision fatigue!
I feel like I’m starting to have fun with my clothes again. These two outfits in particular were planned on the app. I don’t think I would have had the energy to pull them together myself in the moment had it not been for the app!
In Clothes-ing
Speaking of the Whering app, I have been collecting more outfits that you’ve styled for me and hope to photograph them soon – even if they are just more mirror selfies. I appreciate the thought that goes into every look, and getting to see other peoples style perspective using my own closet.
If you’d like to look through my closet and plan an outfit or two, please check out my Whering closet. Your outfit just might appear in a future blog post or social media post!
