Sherbet is a Sure Bet

It’s safe to say the cold weather influenced this dreamy ice cream-esque outfit. I didn’t even realize I dressed like my favorite frozen treat until I looked back at these photos!

The real inspiration for this look was a desire to wear pastels. Scroll down to find out what I love about wearing softer colors!

Sweet T

Especially now more than ever, people normally dress in darker colors or shades of black, because it’s within their comfort zones. So for a lot of folks, seeing colors is a sight to behold. Who knew wearing color be such a shock?

Any time you dress outside the norm, you’re going to get yourself noticed. But I like that pastels are still in a very normal realm (as opposed to say.. trying to bring JNCOs back from the dead).

Color Club

Going off that note, dressing in color is a fun creative exercise. Anyone can pair dark jeans and a black t-shirt together, but how many can mix together a pastel striped top, cognac suede skirt, and vintage pink coat?

I may not be able to draw and paint very well, but I’ll be darn if I can’t create a cute outfit from thrifted clothes!

Spring Fling

My last reason for loving pastel is that it’s about to be very on trend with spring coming up. As I mentioned in my last post, I don’t typically follow trends. But when I can thrift them on the cheap and incorporate them into what I’m already wearing? I’m good with that!

There’s never a wrong time to wear pastels so maybe this will motivate you to thrift them right now. If you do, snap a picture and share it with me on my Facebook page!
