Color Meets Winter Wear

Color Meets Winter Wear

Freshly fallen snow makes the perfect blank canvas for my outfit of many colors. Why dress boring just because it’s cold outside?

My cold weather uniform usually consists of really cute outfits topped with layers of sensible winter wear. I’ve finally spent time investing in cute coats (inspired by my fashion blogger winter survival guide) but I wanted to challenge myself to find a way to make my outside match my inside. How often do you hear that phrase refer to clothes?

I sort of revisited an old outfit post and tried to cram as many colors as I could into one look. It actually wasn’t so tough because of my bright pink hair!

Though it might seem impractical, I really love fingerless gloves and I own a gazillion pairs. The ones in this outfit were a gift and might be my very favorites because.. just look at them! My outfit was more or less created around them. Why not?

Instead of wearing basic clothes on the outside, I wore basic pieces under my coat. This gray sweatshirt dress and a couple pairs of black leggings layered up have been getting their fair share of wear by me this season. It’s just so easy to add stuff on top of them and get on with my day!

The jacket is actually lightweight but it held up just fine for a quick jaunt in the snow. With everything combined, I was just toasty enough.

Next time you get SAD (seasonal affective disorder), throw on every color in your closet, and show winter who’s boss!
