I’m back in black, yellow, and a striped skirt!

Mellow Yellow

Having a spring break was nice but posting outfits again is even better!

During my time off I got really into a yellow streak. I love all colors equally but yellow is not one I’ve given much attention to so this surprised me. While I’ve worn it as-is and also played with other shades of yellow, I feel this outfit is more achievable for most of you who want to try getting outside your all-black-outfit comfort zones and play with color a little more.

Scroll down to read more of my thoughts on this bee-utiful outfit that’s making a buzz!

The Golden Rule

My original plans for this striped skirt & moto jacket were to pair them with a graphic tee but that little nagging voice in my head said I should try some color.

This yellow top has been patiently waiting in my closet to be worn since I thrifted it in December so I tried it out. I am digging how the delicate cut & color look paired with this tough moto jacket. (Juxtaposition is one of my favorite outfit elements after all!)

Always listen to your gut!

Color-full

For more color shy people, something like just my small yellow earrings, aqua nail polish, or pop of pink lipstick would be enough to accomplish a rainbow-y effect.

And on the other end of the spectrum, I could ditch the black and pair yellow with a billion other colors and embody a human bag of Skittles.

The Future’s So Bright

Whatever the case, playing around with color is so much fun to do and is a nice way to give your black clothes a break.

And my outfit’s not the only thing that’s exciting – I have a big announcement on Friday that you’re not going to want to miss! Subscribe to my feed on Bloglovin’ if you’re not already so you get notified.
